The Methods for Delivery: Precision Medicine
Testosterone Injections
For patients that want to have exact control over their dosage on a weekly basis, injections are still a highly effective option especially for Testosterone Replacement Therapy (TRT). This method gives the opportunity to quickly adjust the dosage according to the symptoms and blood work.
Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Pellets
This is our premier modality when it comes to long-term hormonal balance. Hormone pellet therapy is considered by many to be the most physiologic form of hormone delivery available today. It is a unique "set it and forget it" solution that frees you from having to think and worry about pills or creams every day.
What are Pellets?
Pellets are very small, customized-compounded cylinders of pure, bioidentical (identical in structure to additive and hormone bioidentical to other hormones) hormones (Testosterone or Estradiol) that are the size of a grain of rice. They are formed by having the hormone fused in a solid state through the use of a natural plant-based binder (stearic acid).
The Procedure:
The insertion itself consists of a quick main office procedure and entails 20-30 minutes under a local anesthetic. A small incision is made on the top of the hip/buttock area, the pellets are placed just under the skin (subcutaneously using a special tube) and closed by a simple steri-strip. There are no stitches which are normally needed.
This is the "magic" of pellets. Unlike shots that get you a large spike that is followed by a crash, pellets dissolve some slowly over 3 to 6 months. More importantly, they are dependent on cardiac output. This means that when your heart rate increases (when you exercise or are stressed) blood flow around the pellet will increase and your body will naturally take in more of the hormone at the exact time you need it most. It is the only method of delivery that provides this bio-feedback capability.

Troches - are small waxy lozenges that dissolve between the cheek and gum.
Why Troches?
When you swallow a pill it goes through the liver (first-pass metabolism) which could put strain on your liver and thus change the hormone. Troches are swallowed through the mucosa of the mouth where they enter the bloodstream directly. This is ideal for hormones such as Progesterone, Biestrogen and Oxytocin.
Transdermal Creams
Topical creams allow for the possibility of daily application and can be used for a woman or man who is needle-averse. They provide freedom in dosages

How to Get Started on HRT, TRT, & BHRT
Step 1:
We require a 60 Minute (1-hour) consultation with our provider. The cost for this initial visit is $199. During this initial visit, you can discuss your medical history & symptoms, your goals, and can ask all of your questions. Our practitioner will then put together a comprehensive lab slip as we will need to see what your blood levels look like before you begin.
Step 2:
Draw your labs. We will then immediately draw your labs at the same visit. The cost for the panel may vary if the provider decides to check additional blood levels. Your labs should come back within 2-3 days.

Step 3:
As soon as the lab results are in, the practitioner will call you to discuss your options for either HRT and/or BHRT and will give you the cost of the treatment. For convenience, we have included price ranges for treatment below, however, the cost is largely dependent on the (a) type of therapy needed and (b) dosage.
Step 4:
Upon an agreed upon plan, the practitioner will go ahead and initiate the therapy either by putting in the order for the medication or by getting you scheduled in the office for your procedure. For at-home injections, creams, or pills, you will receive instruction from the provider on proper administration of your medication.

Testosterone Therapy
We use the different esters of testosterone to meet your required metabolism:

Testosterone Cypionate: This is the most common injectable form of the compound as it has a half-life of about 8 days so it can be injected once a week.

Testosterone Enanthate: Slightly shorter-acting ester of testosterone that often is used for the patient who may have sensitivities to the carrier oils in Cypionate.

Estrogen Management in Men
Testosterone is converted to estrogen naturally through an enzyme (aromatase). While men require some estrogen for their health of bones and the brain, excess levels lead to water retention and moodiness.

Anastrozole & Letrozole: These are the Aromatase Inhibitors (AIs). We prescribe these judiciously as too much testosterone converting into estrogen can push you out of the optimal balance.

DIM (Diindolylmethane): This is a strong natural ingredient that is found in cruciferous vegetables. DIM aids the liver in metabolizing estrogen along the healthy "2-hydroxy" rather than the 16-hydroxy" pathway reducing estrogen dominance naturally.
