Near Infared Light Pads & Devices
At the clinic, we like to combine our hyperbaric oxygen treatment with targeted red-light and infrared light therapy. As humans, we are electrical beings. That being said, our bodies respond to red and infrared light therapy and by exposing your body to this targeted light therapy, a variety of biological processes related to microcirculation and cellular energy production are jumpstarted. These pads contain three types of light wavelengths:
1. Red Light (650nm)
2. Blue Light (465nm)
3. Near Infrared (850nm)
-Red Light Benefits: The red light wavelength will travel through your skin to stimulate the production of Cytochrome C Oxidase within the skin tissue and your fibroblast cells. This translates into increased cellular energy and increased collagen production. Red light is great for skin and connective tissue regneration. (This is why you see it in every red light beauty mask!)
-Blue Light Benefits: Blue light is a shorter wavelength compared to red light. It travels through the skin transferring its energy to the hemoglobin and the melanin chromophores which are just beneath the skin. Blue Light is helpful for acne, infected wounds, skin infections, skin elasticity. *This is not a substitute for medical advice. Please remember to consult a medical professional before applying any light device directly to an infected wound or skin infection as you do not want to further contaminate the wound or spread the bacteria.
-Infrared Light Benefits: Near Infrared light can penetrate MUCH deeper than red light and can penetrate down to the muscles, soft tissues, ligaments, and in some cases, the bones. The light energy causes a transfer of Cytochrome C Oxidase resulting in increased cellular energy and stimulates the release of nitric oxides which results in increased local blood flow where the infrared is being applied. This wavelength is good for increased circulation and blood flow, nerve and joint damage, tissue and ligament repair, and overall muscle relaxation.
Unlike the red light devices you will find on Amazon that are cheap and not considered medical devices, the LS pro devices are professional-grade LED light therapy systems. Some even include PEMF (Pulsed Electromagnetic Field Therapy!)
